Stations

Terminals

Eurostar's key priority is the safety of its passengers and staff. Security levels at stations, therefore, are set in liaison with the governments of each of the cities where the service is present. Eurostar also employs certain security measures of its own, both seen and unseen.

Wireless internet access is available at all Eurostar terminals. To use this facility you need to find the wireless hotspot at the station and simply plug-in.

St. Pancras International: This newly renovated Victorian station in central London is destination in itself, with boutique shopping and Europe's longest champagne bar.

Ebbsfleet International: The glass and steel structure of this station is a sleek and futuristic addition to the surrounding countryside, close to Junction 2 of the M25.

Ashford International: Located next to Ashford Domestic Station in Kent, this station provides a time-saving alternative to travelling to London for many people departing from South or South-East England.

Lille Europe: A centrally located station, just a stone's throw away from the city's main square, opera house and old town.

Paris Gare du Nord: Located in the heart of Paris, one metro stop from Anvers, for Montemarte and the Sacre-Coeur.

Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi: Located within the heart of Brussels, 5 minutes by metro from Bourse/Beurs at the centre of the town.

Checking in with Eurostar is extremely simple. All you have to do is insert your ticket into the machine and then walk through the gate with your baggage. There is no separate check-in for baggage at Eurostar, as long as you're not carrying more than two bags or cases and one piece of hand luggage.

Check-in time depends on the type of ticket you hold.

  • At least 20 minutes: Frequent Traveller members
  • At least 30 minutes: Standard, Leisure Select and other ticket types
  • At least 45 minutes: Special travel needs passengers (wheelchair users etc.)
  • At least 1 hour: At travellers for Avignon and Ski services
Message for all non-European Economic Area citizens travelling from Paris du Nord terminal on Eurostar.

Citizens of non-European Economic Area countries must complete a landing card before arriving at Eurostar check-in. Landing cards are available from dedicated desks in front of the check-in area and from Eurostar staff. This card must then be handed to UK immigration staff.
Baggage
In case you are travelling with additional items of baggage or large and bulky items such as trunks, bicycles etc. it is necessary to register these items. This service applies only to London-Paris, London-Brussels and London-Lille, and not to any other Eurostar destination. Baggage can be registered at London St. Pancras International, Paris Gare du Nord, Brussels Midi/Zuid and Lille Europe. Your registered baggage will be forwarded on the next available departure, space permitting. However, Eurostar guarantees that all baggage will be available for collection at the relevant station within 24 hours of registration.

Eurostar also allows you send you baggage in advance of your journey so that it is ready for collection when you arrive at your destination.

Eurostar is also happy to help groups and individuals with large amounts of baggage. This may include: student and other groups, film crews, orchestras, parties travelling with conference material, sporting groups, cyclists… or simply people with excessive amounts of luggage.
Bicycles
Eurostar allows you to carry your bike with you on your trip. If you can fold or dismantle your bike and place it in a bike bag with the saddle, handlebar and wheels removed, you can carry it on board as part of your normal luggage allowance, provided the overall size is not bigger than a normal suitcase.

If this is not possible, you can reserve a place for your bike on the train you're travelling on (subject to availability of space). This service operates on the London, Paris and Brussels routes only and guarantees that your bike travels on the same train as you. Reservations can be made by calling Eurostar on 08705 850 850 or visiting the EuroDespatch Centre in person at St. Pancras International. Charges are £20 one way, and you are required to quote your Eurostar reference or show your ticket.

If you don't mind having your bike on a different train, then you can use the registered baggage service, which operates at London, Paris, Brussels and Lille. This service tries to send your bike/baggage by the next train and guarantees that you receive your baggage within 24 hours of registration. The service also allows you to send your bike in advance of your journey so that you are ready to collect it when you arrive. Charges are £20 and you are required to quote your Eurostar reference or show your ticket.

Unfortunately, Eurostar does not permit you to take your tandem bicycle with you, unless you can dismantle it and reduce it to the size of normal bicycle.

For those who do not want to take their bicycles with them, parking space is available at most Eurostar terminals.

Additionally, excellent car parking facilities are available St. Pancras International, Ebsfleet International, Ashford International, Lille Europe, Gare du Nord and Brussels Midi/Zuid stations.
